How lucky you were to get to see the Kelly Clarkson Show and Merrily We Roll Along, which won the Tony as did Jonathan Groff and Daniel Radcliffe! Nice choices, fellows. I do believe the New York segment was my favorite part of the video. Kind of sad to see what the Queen Mary has become. It really holds no interest to me now. But I’m going to New York in September to do a cruise and plan on going in three days early and hopefully repeating some of your adventures. Thank you for another great video.

I’ve not been on a cruise, but I’m very curious to know if the cruise is not full, would they not do like a hotel would and either upgrade your suite or move you to another one?

We spent 130 days on the Cunard's Queen Elizabeth last year. We always wore a jacket and usually wore a jacket and tie most nights, and black tie on gala nights. The dressing up on Cumard is as you make it.

Merrily We Roll Along is on at the theatre next to "our" hotel, the AKA Times Square. We always stay there in NYC love it and seeing the street it's in makes me want to go there NOW!!

I can't figure it all out, but most things have gone downhill since the pandemic. Add this to the list. And unfortunately, some of the things that have gone downhill are most important, such as medical care.

I've been waiting eagerly for this episode and when I saw the Disney cruise last week I thought you'd forgotten about me ;) I googled the voyage and was shocked at the cost for what, in reality, is a fancy, slow, expensive ferry to New York. Now I know your experience I'd rather take a flight to NY then cruise for a week from the states. Thank you :)

Well, that was a dissent into madness. How strange because this video started out beautifully. The ship looks incredible, the service you had was wonderful, the food looks delicious. What a shame.

As a fellow lover and appreciator of food, I have so much sympathy pain for you in retrospect over that meal. It just looked absolutely horrible. Like tales of overcooked bland days gone by. Hope the rest of the voyage was better and thank you again for taking us with you.

To answer your first question, Yes! 9 AM for breakfast closing is insanely early when you are on holiday. Considering what passengers are paying to be on the ship, there should be some leeway around food service. And what a challenge to do a review for this ship because it seems almost 50-50 split between things that are outstanding like the customer service the food decor the organization for outdoor space versus the unfortunate side effect of cost cutting. Other than the surroundings, I could obviously recognise the QM2 but everything else didnt ring true to me. I am not one of the crusties that often cruise on Cunard, and I am definitely not a person who would choose to cruise (I took my mum from Southampton to NYC to the Caribbean and then return Dec 2022) but I am disappointed for your experience. They have certainly relaxed the dress code over the years as gents were expected to wear suits/jackets with ties etc to dinner but now that has been relaxed depending on the night eg formal nights. Although I am not one to dress up as a rule, I do like to wear a suit to dinner at somewhere appropriate. Although a Britannia passenger, I found the food in the past to be as good as most old school fine dining restaurants. The consummes were high class and often a test of the chef's attention to detail. Sometimes I would have a little gripe like a bombe alaska where the meringue was a touch gritty where the sugar hadn't been mixed in fully, but also know that in a mass kitchen it is often done that way to hold its form when made in advance. I will say that the service that I had was some of the best, and their attention to detail was first rate. Our table staff were exemplary and having dined in some of the finest restaurants around the world, Rani would have fitted in perfectly in any other them, and Peter who had less experience wasnt far behind. Same with Nancy who was our room steward, she was perfection and a wonderful lady. The staff always said that all of the staff with Cunard wanted to be on the QM2 and many had been with the ship since launch or close to it. I wonder if they pulled a lot of the staff off the Mary and put them on the Anne as I expect that they would want their best staff there given the hype of a new ship and the staff might want to be on a newer ship as well. Some of the best memories of that trip for me was the staff and I am disappointed that you didnt have the same experience as I did. They were always very professional, but as you got to know them, their personalities shone through. They also got to know your foibles and knew what you wanted or if you didnt know what you wanted like seeing the same menus again on a 27 day cruise, would suggest off menu items that they could have made for you. I really enjoyed their friendship which was sincere. I do hope that your experience was not a sign of things to come and that their standards will be returned to their usual service. I have to agree with you about the rooms and tvs. They do need revamping and brought up to a more modern setting with powerpoints and charging points near the beds, I found that very frustrating myself. I expect that many of their cruisers havent needed them, but as other people fit their demographic they will need them. As a person who has done two cruises as an adult (one when I was 5 so that doesnt count), for me it was 2 too many. Having said that, I have watched you two review other cruises and love your style and honesty. I just wish you saw the ship as I did, and not as you experienced, and that seems to be the thrust of a lot of your feedback.

I love your videos and was so disappointed that your cruise was "meh"! You were generous in your ratings. I used to think it would be awesome to take an ocean liner across the Atlantic, but I'm cured. Give me a Carribean cruise for half the money and twice the fun.

Huge congrats on exchanging your house contracts. Wishing you many happy years in your new home. My son got a special deal on the Queen Elizabeth....Queens grill suites at one tenth of normal price, and that included family. It was 2 nights from Melbourne to Sydney. We thought we'd died and gone to heaven. You guys really did get a raw deal on your cruise, our food was amazing, and people dressed up to the nines for dinner. I hope you get to experience those suites one day BUT...your food really looked abysmal at times. That brioche in New York was far better than food you received on board. I'd say they are putting most of the food budget at the pointy end. We had real lobster...twice!!!! And they did flambes at our table. We're usually Princess inside no frills cruisers so what we had was amazeballs.

Another steller review!. A hot cabin on any cruise sucks. But IMO inexcusable on a Cunard Ship. I wonder if Carnival corp ships age poorly?
